We envision a world in which highly evolved technology fosters empathy and true communication in society, rather than replacing it.
Empathy is the bond that stabilizes societies, yet it is on decline in recent decades. The reasons are complex, but it is clear that increasing institutionalization and convenience make empathy less necessary on a day-to-day basis. The price is society becoming less resilient, resulting in polarization and self-centered behavior in the face of uncertainty. We founded Junglebrains to counter this trend by enabling businesses and organizations to truly listen, to be approachable at eye level, and to show genuine empathy towards the individual, increasing comfort while opening up room for negotiation – at virtually unlimited scales – with the help of AI.
We will soon be publishing more on the topic, including references to business reviews and scientific research, in our blog.
The development of empathic technology, besides its obvious benefits, entails substantial risks for people and society (more on this in our blog soon). Being aware of this, we perform a balancing act: Not just do we strive to be at the pinnacle of Empathy AI, we also aim to do it in a way that promotes empathy in people and that is responsible, respectful, and safe in the long run. This implies public accountability and transparency as much as securing and investing in AI safety, privacy, and people's mental health.
In a nutshell, Junglebrains wants to provide an ethical, purposeful alternative as Big Tech embraces empathy for mere profit. This requires special decision structures and processes, which we will also cover in a blog article soon.
We are industry veterans with decades of combined experience in audio, voice, and language technology deployment, machine learning, voice UX design, sound design, conversation design, product management, and strategy. We have worked for big corporations as well as startup companies at various stages; as engineers, researchers, consultants, designers, and managers, and we have experienced again and again that some of what we believe are fundamental issues in tech and society remain unaddressed. This inspired us to found Junglebrains.
We combine creativity, passion, curiosity, and rebellion with analytical rigor and depth of inquiry. We are both digital and analog, future-minded and jungle-bodied. We strive for competitive growth as much as positive impact.
Above all, we are passionate about people and human connection. Our pursuit of personal growth, mindfulness, and empathy shapes everything we do.
